"Lactose intolerance is often not recognized and diagnosed due to symptoms that overlap with those of other gastrointestinal tract diseases. The aim of this meeting is to convey correct information to the doctor, an essential premise so that they can act as a reliable interlocutor to their patient, able to direct them to a correct diagnostic process and, in case of positivity, to a coexistence as serene as possible with their condition of intolerance," declare Raffaella Sibillo and Daniela Percesepe, respectively president of the board of directors and medical director of Villa Fiorita, who will welcome the attendees together with the Archbishop of Capua, Pietro Lagnese. The spotlight will be on the most widespread diagnostic examination, which is the breath test, and how this, along with the genetic test, represent the scientifically reliable tests for diagnosis. The issue of the microbiota, which plays a key role in intestinal pathology and specifically in lactose intolerance, will also be addressed, explains the scientific head of the initiative, Rauso.
