The TES working group at the Long Duration Energy Storage Council will be dedicated to promoting research, development, and integration of long-duration thermal energy storage solutions. The Long Duration Energy Storage Council is a global non-profit organization established by McKinsey with the goal of accelerating the decarbonization of the energy system by promoting the adoption of innovations, policies, and strategies in support of the commercialization and use of long-duration energy storage systems. Among its associate companies is Breakthrough Energy, founded by Bill Gates.
The main goals of the TES Working Group at LDES are the promotion of cutting-edge materials and research on innovative thermal-based storage systems for long-duration storage, sharing knowledge, collaboration, and capacity building among industry experts, academic institutions, and governments on a global scale.
