From the maintenance of modern rescue and firefighting equipment to the restoration of historical pieces, true emblems of the courage of firefighters, often still in use due to their functionality. These are some of the activities underway at the Provincial Command of Caserta, whose commitment to the care of these tools is fundamental to ensure maximum efficiency and safety during operations, especially in view of the summer season, when the risk of fires increases. Among the modern equipment undergoing maintenance is the 'Italian ladder', a valuable tool for reaching inaccessible areas and carrying out rescue operations in confined spaces, 'whose regular care,' explains the commander of the Caserta firefighters, Paolo Massimi, 'ensures its stability and functionality, allowing firefighters to operate with the utmost safety and precision.' The restoration of the 'wheeled lance' represents an important step in preserving the historical memory of the fire brigade. This lance, with its capacity of 4,000 liters per minute and a jet of 50-60 meters, still in use in some Commands, 'represents,' adds Massimi, 'a symbol of the dedication and courage of the Firefighters who in the past faced fires of vast proportions. Its restoration allows us to preserve a piece of history and to convey to new generations the importance of their work.'
