Maintenance Works Begin for the Safety of Provincial Road 73 'South Matese Panoramic' Between Morcone and Pietraroja

Maintenance works have started for the safety of the 'South Matese Panoramic' provincial road 73 between the territories of Morcone and Pietraroja. The president of the Province, Nino Lombardi, announced this, who is in constant contact with the mayors of the two municipalities, Luigino Ciarlo and Angelo Pietro Torrillo, in relation to the need to define and implement measures for the passability of one of the most heavily damaged arteries of the provincial territory. The South Matese connects the Alto Tammaro with the first foothills of the Matese, that is, with Pietraroja, where the geopaleontological park in which the fossil of the dinosaur cub 'Ciro' was found insists: due to the numerous active landslide movements on the artery, the SP 73 South Matese is currently only passable by residents. Approved, by resolution of Lombardi, a feasibility project for the reconstruction of the artery and therefore for the reopening without limits to traffic, but the same project is still waiting for the source of funding. While waiting for the necessary extraordinary financial resources, the intervention started, under the supervision of the Province's Infrastructure Sector, aims to ensure at least greater safety conditions for residents: the works, aimed at reshaping the road surface in order to make it passable, have been started in the territory of Morcone and in the next few days will continue up to Pietraroja.
