Major Overhaul Leads to Three-Year Closure of Circumvesuviana's Centro Direzionale Station

The Circumvesuviana's Centro Direzionale station must be closed for three years for substantial refurbishment works, agreed upon with the City of Naples, which will oversee its execution. Consequently, the line from Baiano will no longer pass through the Centro Direzionale but will divert to the San Giorgio station, where those headed to Naples will have to change trains. The Autonomous Entity Volturno announces this through a note. This effectively confirms the closure of the Naples-Nola-Baiano line for next summer: 'Starting from the first of July,' Eav explains, 'the Naples-Baiano will be completely interrupted to allow urgent extraordinary maintenance works that will provide greater safety and regularity to the line itself, which will be reopened starting from September 11 and, as mentioned, will lead to San Giorgio a Cremano. For the transport company, this is a compulsory choice due to the need for extraordinary maintenance, similar to those often planned by Rfi (as, in our territory, with the closure of the Naples-Castellammare stretch scheduled for July and August). Eav assures that 'for the entire duration of the interruptions, substantial alternative-integrative bus services will be provided.' Explaining the various planned interventions, the Autonomous Entity Volturno also assures that 'meetings with user associations and mayors of the concerned municipalities are scheduled for next week, to present the adopted plan for the interruption.'
