Man Arrested for Beating and Threatening to Kill Elderly Mother for Money

A 50-year-old man from San Martino Valle Caudina has been arrested after being hit with a pre-trial detention order issued by the preliminary hearing judge of the Avellino court. According to what was ascertained by the carabinieri of the provincial command of Avellino, the 50-year-old would have engaged in behavior characterized by violence, insults, and death threats against his mother in order to extort money from her, forcing her to alter her own life habits. The enforcement of the measure was carried out by the carabinieri of the San Martino Valle Caudina Station who initiated the investigations coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office. The 50-year-old must answer for aggravated extortion and mistreatment within the family.
