Man Arrested with 18 Kilos of Hashish in Villa San Giovanni

He was subjected to a check in Villa San Giovanni and found with 18 kilos of hashish. The man, a 45-year-old from Naples, headed to Sicily, was arrested for drug trafficking in the past few days by the finance police of the provincial command of Reggio Calabria as part of a service aimed at the prevention and suppression of illegal trafficking. While in a car, he was subjected to a check, but his nervousness aroused the financiers' suspicions. With the aid of two canine units from the Reggio Calabria ready deployment company, the car was searched. Thanks to the nose of the drug-sniffing dogs Syria and Edin, highly specialized, the military discovered a false bottom, created in the front part of the vehicle, with the hashish "disguised" in paper wrappings, with shapes and images identical to cans of drinks and ice cream cones hidden in thermal bags. A total of 220 bars of hashish, weighing 18 kilograms in total, along with a mobile phone were seized. The man was arrested and taken to the "Arghillà" prison in Reggio Calabria, at the disposal of the prosecutor led by Giovanni Bombardieri. The drug, if sold at retail, could have yielded about 130,000 euros.
