He was spending an afternoon with friends at a restaurant on one of the beaches of the Domitian coast, in Castel Volturno, when he suffered a malaise and a choking episode.
The 59-year-old called for help trying to attract the attention of those present, without being able to make any sound and falling to the ground after a few moments. On the spot, off-duty, there was a carabinieri officer who, realizing the severity of the situation, promptly intervened to rescue the man.
The immediate maneuvers, first aimed at removing the obstruction that prevented him from breathing, and then to resuscitate the unfortunate, have allowed to avert the worst and make him regain consciousness.
The ambulance, called to the scene after a few minutes, through the immediate alarm forwarded to the Operational Center of the Territorial Carabinieri Department of Mondragone, allowed the 59-year-old to receive the necessary care and to be transported first to the emergency room of the 'Pineta Grande' clinic in Castel Volturno and then transferred to the 'Cardarelli' hospital in Naples where he was admitted, not in danger of life.
