A man was stabbed to death in his own yard. The murder took place in Baiano last night. The victim was a 54-year-old with a criminal record. When he was rescued by emergency services, he had a deep cut from a bladed weapon on his left leg.
Despite attempts at resuscitation, the man died of cardiac arrest on the way to the Nola hospital. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause and perpetrator. As of now, there are no known connections between the victim and organized crime.
The Carabinieri are interviewing some witnesses and technical investigations are ongoing, along with the acquisition of images from surveillance cameras in the area. The body will undergo an autopsy. The Carabinieri of the Baiano Company and those of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Avellino are on the case.
