Mario Mattioli Appointed as Advisor to the Italian Institute for Historical Studies

Mario Mattioli succeeds Piero Craveri as a councilor of the Italian Institute for Historical Studies. Called to replace the recently deceased historian, the Neapolitan entrepreneur in the field of maritime transport was appointed by the Board of Directors: "It consolidates the generational change at the top of the Institute founded by Benedetto Croce and Raffaele Mattioli in 1946 and confirms the opening to the living entrepreneurial and industrial sectors of the economy," reads a note that signals the succession. Mattioli is the president of the Ca.Fi.Ma. group, a shipping company with a long and established tradition. Committed to the blue economy and ecological transition, he has been president of Confitarma-Italian Shipowners Confederation and of the Assorimorchiatori: he is currently president of the Federation of the Sea, which associates the entire Italian cluster of the blue economy, and is a councilor of the Union of Industrialists Naples. Member of the committee of the Britannia steamship insurance association limited UK and honorary general consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in Naples and Southern Italy, he is also a councilor of the National Maritime Fund, an entity that finances training projects for officer cadets.
