Mass Resignation and Dissolution of Benevento's Youth Forum: A Setback for Youth Policies

The mass resignation and the subsequent dissolution of the Youth Forum of Benevento "are striking because, despite the commitments that the young people base their decision to leave on, it appears as a defeat for the city's youth policies to lose a bastion of discussion that should encompass the issues of the youth world". This is maintained by the Democratic Party's council group at Palazzo Mosti, adding: "It concerns a youth world that those who are in politics today have frequented or know well: it is a common trend that sees young people having to end their commitment coinciding with their first work or educational experiences, alas, more and more often far from Benevento and the South, but this has always been accompanied by a natural turnover. The mass resignations and the consequent dissolution, however, almost seem like a discouraging signal: a massive willingness of the young people to distance themselves from politics". The hope of the democrat councillors is that "the administration will act, at a time when the distances between young people and politics are already astronomical, to heal this vacancy, calling new elections as soon as possible, and that the new forum is formed by young people driven by the enthusiasm to provide their ideas, their voice, their enthusiasm to Benevento, keeping aside 'political contaminations' of any kind".
