Massimo Bottura Returns to Naples: A Gala Evening of Star-Studded Chefs and the Launch of 'Slow Food Fast Cars'

On Tuesday, April 9th, the Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura returns to Naples to present the new book written together with his wife Lara Gilmore 'Slow Food Fast Cars, Casa Maria Luigia - Stories and Recipes', published by L'Ippocampo. The event will also feature the participation of institutions and a team of Michelin-starred chefs who will cook during the gala evening organized at Palazzo Petrucci. As in 2014, the presence of Massimo Bottura and the scheduled evening are thanks to Maurizio Cortese, who will lead the book presentation at 6 PM in the Sala dei Baroni of the Maschio Angioino, in the presence of the Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi. Later at Palazzo Petrucci, chef Lino Scarallo will welcome in his kitchens some of the most famous chefs of the region. Mario Affinita from Don Geppi in S. Agnello di Sorrento, Giuseppe Aversa from Il Buco in Sorrento, Alfonso Caputo from Taverna del Capitano in Marina del Cantone, Angelo Carannante from Caracol in Bacoli, Nino Di Costanzo from Danì Maison in Ischia, Michelina Fischetti from Oasis Sapori Antichi in Vallesaccarda, Oliver Glowig from Tre Olivi in Paestum, Micol Izzo from Piazzetta Milù in Castellammare di Stabia, Fumiko Sakai from Relais Blu in Massa Lubrense, Pasquale Torrente from Il Convento in Cetara. There will also be signature pizzas with Davide Ruotolo from Palazzo Petrucci and Enzo Piccirillo from Antica Friggitoria La Masardona. Accompanying the dishes, wines from Salvatore Martusciello with Asprinio di Aversa Trentapioli 2022, from Marisa Cuomo with Costa d'Amalfi Furore white 2023, and from Terredora with 'Fiano di Avellino DOCG ex Cinere Resurgo 2021'. The pastry section will be handled by Salvatore Capparelli from Naples and Salvatore Gabbiano from Pompei. Part of the evening's proceeds will be donated to the 'Food for Soul' foundation, a project strongly supported by Lara Gilmore and Massimo Bottura, managing Refettorios worldwide to support people living in conditions of social vulnerability, with a strong focus on food waste.
