Massive Arms Seizure in Italy: Weapons and Ammunition Confiscated

Weapons, war daggers, and even a machine gun. This is what the Carabinieri have seized. The soldiers of the operational section of Pozzuoli arrested a 33-year-old from Marano, because during a search in his home, they found 2 pistols, 1 machine gun, 3 rifles, 6 daggers, an air rifle, and ammunition of various calibers. The weapons were a modified Bruni and a Beretta 98FS, both with filed-off serial numbers. A 9mm Uzi machine gun, a 12-gauge pump-action rifle, and a single-barrel muzzle-loading rifle. Also hidden were 6 war daggers and a Beretta rifle barrel. Many of the weapons were concealed in a plastic container buried in the garden. During the operation, the Carabinieri carried out another search in an apartment on Via Campana, in the municipality of Quarto. A 23-year-old local was reported for drug possession for the purpose of dealing. In the house, 10 grams of hashish, 3 of marijuana, and a precision scale were found. Not far from the young man's house, in common areas, the military also found a 9mm Beretta with filed-off serial numbers and almost 80 bullets of various calibers. The weapons will be subjected to ballistic and fingerprint tests to verify if they have been used in acts of violence. The 33-year-old, arrested for illegal possession of weapons, was placed under house arrest.
