Massive Seizure of Weapons and Drugs in Caserta

Numerous weapons, ammunition, and about 300 doses of hashish and marijuana, a precision scale, and packaging material were found and seized by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Caserta, during a search carried out at the home of a farmer in San Marcellino. The arsenal, which includes a rifle with sawed-off barrels and modified stock, ready for use, three rifles with single and double barrels, all resulting from theft, a modified stage pistol, and over 150 rounds of various calibers, was found in various rooms of the home and its immediate surroundings, hidden in plastic pipes and wrapped in cellophane bags, in good condition and preservation. The man, a 54-year-old local, was unable to provide valid justifications for the possession of the weapons. The Carabinieri proceeded to arrest him on the spot for illegal possession of weapons and possession with the intent to distribute drugs. A cohabiting family member was reported. The 54-year-old is in the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison.
