Master Pizzaiolo Luigi D'Auria Introduces New Pizza Specialty 'Fragorita'

"Sorbillo likes pineapple, and I like strawberries". With this sentence on his social media profile, master pizzaiolo Luigi D'Auria, owner of 'mondo pizza Vomero' in via Netti, launches his new specialty: 'Fragorita', a pizza that is half margherita and half sweet with strawberries and custard cream, to satisfy the most demanding palates. The name 'Fragorita' comes from strawberries (fragole) and margherita. First of all to conceive and realize the fragorita, Luigi D'Auria serves it in a single dish with the care to slightly separate the two halves when it comes out of the oven. The idea came from the pizza that Luigi D'Auria presented in 1998 and that made him win, at only 22 years old, the award for the best pizza in the Campania region given by Fipe Confcommercio. It was a pizza that was half stuffed and half margherita.
