658 days after the last time, here is Matteo Berrettini again: the Italian tennis player dominates the final against the Spanish specialist Carballes Baena (7-5 6-2), who was also the title holder, and wins the eighth success of his career by winning the Marrakech tournament. For Berrettini, it is the eighth title of his career, the fourth on clay: he had not won on clay for three years, since April 2021 in Belgrade. And it is yet another smile for Italian tennis in this 2024 after the great success of Sinner in Miami a few days ago. An important victory for morale but also and above all for the ranking of Berrettini: Matteo came to the tournament as number 135 in the ranking, from now he will be well into the Top 100. Confirming, among other things, the excellent things shown at the start of this year: good responses had come in Phoenix, in Miami unfortunately he lost to Andy Murray in the first round, but in Marrakech he played great, then winning the final success.
