Maurizio Mariani will be the referee for the big match next Sunday at Maradona between Napoli and Juventus. The referee from Rome returns to Maradona and to officiate Napoli almost two months from the last time.
It was indeed Mariani who refereed in Torino-Napoli last January 7, a sensational and heavy 3-0 defeat for the blues, perhaps the lowest and most complicated point of this season.
In total with Mariani, Napoli has played 20 matches in the last seven seasons: 13 are the times the blues have won, six losses and only one draw, that in Udine (1-1) of the 2019/20 season.
In that season, Mariani had directed Napoli-Juventus at Maradona: it ended 2-1 with goals by Zielinski, Insigne and Cristiano Ronaldo at the last minute. In his career, the Roman has also refereed a 2-1 in Turin between the two teams.
