This morning, Mayor Gaetano Manfredi visited the III Municipality Stella - San Carlo all'Arena, on Via Lieti to discuss the services provided by municipal offices for the issuance of electronic ID cards.
Since last July, the City of Naples has activated a reservation system which is the only way to access the service in all Municipalities. Citizens must make an appointment by accessing the dedicated website through the page www.comune.napoli.it/prenotacie and authenticating with their own Spid or Cie credentials. Alternatively, they can book by calling the toll-free number 800 776565, active from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 18.00.
The new system has allowed to reduce waiting times from three months to three days for the appointment, with consequent elimination of queues at the counter. The new methods also guarantee a uniform reservation system for all ten Municipalities of the City of Naples.
In the period from the activation of the service until last January, 68,624 electronic ID cards were issued, an average of about ten thousand Cie per month with an average waiting time of three days between request and booking.
"The City of Naples," explained Mayor Manfredi, "has implemented a new way of booking electronic ID cards. A 'smart' system that has allowed a significant reduction in waiting times, fully meeting the needs of citizens to obtain the document in very short times and with a simplified procedure. A reengineering of the online booking system and the establishment of a dedicated toll-free number have resulted in significant advantages, both in terms of streamlining the procedure but, above all, in terms of full administrative transparency. The Municipalities are managing the many requests well. After just over seven months we can certainly make a positive assessment of the new booking methods, thanks also to the work of all the staff of the Municipalities assigned to the Registry Service, which impeccably represents the first point of contact between citizens and institutions".
"In 2023, the III Municipality issued more than eight thousand ID cards," emphasized the President of the III Municipality Fabio Greco, "This result is the result of a commitment aimed at improving Citizen Services. The hires made thanks to the last municipal competition have allowed a generational replacement of staff. In addition, the activation of the online booking service and the toll-free number have helped to make procedures faster. We are happy that citizens attest to the improvement of this service and we are already working to activate others, such as the counter for changes of residence that will soon also be opened in the headquarters of Via Santi Giovanni and Paolo".
