Medusa: Between Myth and Art - A Collective Exhibition at Capua's Provincial Museum

The Provincial Museum of Capua hosts "Medusa. Between Myth and Art". The art show's vernissage is scheduled for Sunday, April 7th, organized by the "Opus Est" association in collaboration with "Il salotto di Ilenia" and "Quercus Vitae". There will be 12 artists exhibiting, each with a thematic work on the myth of the Gorgon with snake hair and petrifying gaze, which in antiquity was depicted on objects, utensils, armaments, and decorations as an apotropaic or protective measure against evil spirits. Starting at 10 am in the Sala Liani of the museum, there will be a presentation of the works by Caterina Monte followed by a speech by Ilenia Di Gabriele. This will be followed by the presentation of the book titled "The Enigma of Medusa" by Alessandro Luciano, a writer, but also an archaeologist, employee of the National Archaeological Museum and member of the Carabinieri's cultural heritage protection unit. The artists presenting their works in the exhibition are Ilenia Di Gabriele, Daniela Colonna, Saverio Maietta, MRosaria Di Marco, Anna Scopetta, Rosaria Gentile, Angela M. De Rosa, Sabina Russo, Marco Falco, Giuseppe Sgueglia, Nunzia Gaudino, and Cristina Flaviano.
