Metropolitan City of Naples Organizes an Event on Recognizing Same-Sex Families: The Importance of Kind and Inclusive Language

The Metropolitan City of Naples organizes on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm (Council Hall, Santa Maria la Nova monumental complex) an educational/informative event on the topic "Recognition of same-sex families: the importance of kind and inclusive language". The conference coincides with the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia. The meeting aims to reflect on the value that society assigns to words today and the impact they have on people's well-being, raising awareness among participants about the importance of correctness and kindness of language used also in a professional context. The Metropolitan City of Naples, a partner of RE.A.D.Y. (National network of public administrations against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity), is convinced that it is necessary to build a new, polite, kind, and inclusive language, to accurately describe new experiences for our society, contributing to their recognition and the protection of their right to exist.
