Monteforte's Commitment to Autism Awareness and Inclusion for the Second Consecutive Year

For the second consecutive year, the municipality of Monteforte organizes a series of events and workshops entirely dedicated to autism awareness and inclusion. Three meetings are scheduled for April 2024: On Sunday 14th, an inclusive workshop organized by the Association Il Fiorellino e la Tartaruga at the House of Culture; Monday, April 15th, a pastry workshop; and finally, the charity match organized in collaboration between Asd Smile Monteforte and Il Fiorellino e la Tartaruga. 'Proudly, we wanted once again to make our contribution in terms of awareness and activities aimed at autistic children,' declares Mayor Costantino Giordano - 'we are always attentive to the needs of inclusion and believe that activities of this type serve to bridge the gap. We want every citizen to feel an active part of our community, which is why I invite all our fellow citizens to support us in this important path of inclusion.' For the municipality of Monteforte Irpino, this is a 2.0 project, as it was already decided in April 2023 to create a monthly billboard of events dedicated to autism. 'Our commitment in this sense is strong and rooted over time,' explains the Councilor for Social Policies, Giulia Valentino - 'since last April we have decided to deliberate a month of events entirely dedicated to the inclusion of autistic children, but also in previous years we have created events, conferences, and workshop activities that have always had the sole purpose of shining a spotlight on the issue and the need to network.' 'The associative sector is also fundamental in this perspective,' adds councilor Angelo Damiano - 'the work that we have been doing for several years together with the association "Il Fiorellino e la Tartaruga" is excellent and allows us to always dream big.'
