Mother and Son Charged in Prostitution Case

Mother and son, involved in an investigation for aiding and abetting prostitution in the city, have been indicted by the preliminary hearing judge Vincenzo Landolfi. These are Carmelina Vene, 63 years old, from Montesarchio, and her son Biagio Antonelli, 26 years old. The object of the investigations is the management of two apartments in the city, one in the area of Torre della Catena and another in the Libertà district. The rooms were rented weekly through a company called 'Vacation Homes' of which Antonelli and his mother were partners. In reality, the rooms of the apartments were rented to prostitutes. The same woman admitted to knowing that those who used the houses were prostitutes, but she did not facilitate them. The son claimed to know nothing about those who rented the houses, limiting himself to only carrying out accounting tasks. The public prosecutor requested two indictments, the defender Teresa Meccariello the dismissal.
