Municipal Financial Stability and Fiscal Equity: A Report from the City Council

The municipal council, chaired by Clemente Mastella, has approved the 2023 financial statement. "Once again," explains the Finance Commissioner Maria Carmela Serluca, "as already happened with the Forecast Budget, we are in perfect alignment with the deadlines set by the law, which prescribes the approval of the management report by April 30th. After the green light from the auditors, we will go to the City Council for the final approval." In her opinion, moreover, "a comforting trend continues that certifies how the municipal accounts are secure, by virtue of the rigorous respect of the accounting parameters. The administration result is improving and the cash result (25 million euros) is broadly positive. Particularly important is the data that signals the effectiveness of the fight against evasion: the income from IMU has increased, compared to the previous year, by 600 thousand euros and those derived from TARI by over 100 thousand euros, in line with the objectives of the Mastella administration, which aim at the principles of justice and fiscal equity." For Serluca, another encouraging result concerns "the expenditure on investments grown, compared to the previous year by 20 million and 500 thousand euros. I thank the Finance Manager and the department for the work done, which has allowed the timely approval of a document that testifies to the financial solidity of the Municipality."
