Naples Bar Suspended for 30 Days After Violent Incidents

The Police Commissioner of Naples, upon the proposal of the Montecalvario Police Station, has ordered the suspension for 30 days of the food and beverage service to the public for a venue in the Spanish Quarters. In particular, on the night of last March 24, the soldiers of the Mobile Unit and the Operational Unit of the Carabinieri had ascertained, through the viewing of the images from the commercial establishment's video surveillance system, that a customer, following a quarrel arising from trivial reasons with another individual, had fired a gunshot and the casing was found on the road surface. In the past months of February and March, instead, the officers of the Montecalvario Police Station, near the venue in question, had administratively sanctioned 5 people for possession of drugs for personal use. Moreover, between January 2023 and February 2024, there were several assaults, occurring both inside and outside the commercial activity; specifically, on the night of February 19, 2023, the owner's husband was hit by a gunshot to the shoulder, following a quarrel arising from trivial reasons with a customer, while another individual was injured with a bladed weapon to the buttock and abdomen. The measure, executed this morning, is therefore aimed at averting a concrete danger to public order and the safety of citizens.
