Local Police personnel, Airport Operational Unit, together with State Police personnel, conducted a control operation of the Capodichino airport area. During the operation, 40 vehicles including taxi and Ncc (car rental with driver) were checked.
The checks led to the identification of an illegal taxi driver whose driving license was suspended and the vehicle impounded, and a subject who had used a vehicle not intended for Ncc (car rental with driver) purposes. In this case, too, the vehicle was suspended from circulation. The Airport Operational Unit also issued 5 fines to regular taxi drivers with consequent reports to the competent Public Course Office.
Of these fines, one was issued for failing to issue the predetermined tariff receipt, two for picking up outside the authorized airport parking areas, one for not having the professional driving license with them, one for picking up clients outside the municipality of license issuance. Moreover, the Local Police identified 2 illegal street vendors whose goods were confiscated.
