Naples Dedicates Street to Chiara Lubich, Founder of the Focolare Movement

The Municipality of Naples names a street after Chiara Lubich, founder of the Focolare religious Movement. Via Chiara Lubich will indeed be the new name given to the third Traversa Giuseppe Garibaldi, in the Pendino district. The naming ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 2, at 4:00 PM, in the presence of the deputy mayor and councilor for Toponymy, Laura Lieto, and representatives of the Focolare Movement. Precisely on May 2, 1996, in Naples, Chiara Lubich, meeting with people involved in politics who were members of the Focolare Movement, gave life to the Political Movement for Unity, an international laboratory of collaboration and dialogue among citizens, public officials, and institutional representatives of different political orientations who choose to put fraternity at the base of their commitment. After the ceremony, at 5:00 PM, there will be - at the hall of the University Institute for Linguistic Mediators 'IUM Academy School', in Piazza Nicola Amore 6 - a meeting organized by the Focolare Movement and the Political Movement for Unity (MPPU): 'From Chiara's charisma of unity a commitment to fraternity' which will be attended by the councilor for Tourism, representing the municipal administration.
