Naples Drug Bust: A 19-Year-Old Caught in the Act

The agents of the general prevention and public assistance office, during their patrol, noticed near the porticoes of a building on Annamaria Ortese street, in the Scampia neighborhood of Naples, two individuals who, after retrieving something from a cemented pipe in the asphalt, handed it over to a person in a car in exchange for money; the latter then quickly drove away. The police promptly intervened, stopping one of the two and finding him in possession of 310 euros, a clear profit from the criminal activity, while in the pipe they found 3 sticks of hashish weighing about 9.3 grams and a small bag containing approximately 1.2 grams of marijuana; the accomplice, however, managed to vanish. Furthermore, having good reason to believe that there could be additional elements related to the facts under investigation, the officers extended their control activity to the home of the suspect, where they found another 685 euros, divided into banknotes of various denominations. For these reasons, the 19-year-old from Naples, with specific previous police records, was arrested for illegal possession and distribution of narcotic substances.
