Naples Drug Bust: Couple Arrested and Substantial Seizure Made

The officers of the San Paolo police station, during their patrol, while passing near the Bagnoli-Agnano Terme metro station, noticed a scooter with a man onboard who, in exchange for money, handed something to a woman. The latter then got on the motor vehicle with which the two moved away towards via Terracina. The police followed them and stopped them not far away, finding the driver in possession of 690 euros, several sets of keys, and two packets of hashish weighing about 14 grams, while the woman had another packet of the same substance purchased shortly before. Furthermore, the police extended their inspection to the man's residence in the Bagnoli district and a premises he used in Agnano. In the apartment, the officers found a dose containing 1.5 grams of cocaine, 11 cartridges caliber 7.62, a machete, a taser, and three knives, while in the premises there was a bag containing about 81.50 grams of cocaine, 14 packets of hashish weighing about 107 grams, 2 precision scales, various drug packaging materials, a Beretta pistol with the serial number filed off, 6 cartridges cal. 7.65, another 15 cartridges cal. 7.6, three knives, another machete, and 81,050 euros, divided into banknotes of various denominations. Finally, in the man's car, the officers found and seized another knife. The 55-year-old man from Naples was arrested for illicit possession and distribution of narcotic substances, illegal possession of a clandestine weapon, illegal possession of war ammunition, and receiving stolen goods; the buyer, on the other hand, was administratively sanctioned for possession of narcotic substances for personal use.
