Naples: Illegal Structures Housing Homeless and Romanian Nationals Discovered

Four wooden structures and one masonry structure were identified by the local police on Via Caramanico, in Naples. The masonry structure seemed to be frequented by homeless people. The wooden structures were housing people of Romanian origin, who declared themselves as occupants. During the inspection, an electrical cable was found extending from the structures to the former cotton mill. Following the cable, a magnetothermic switch was discovered precariously attached to a window, connected via a flying cable to a nearby Enel pole close to the Caramanico market. Enel's intervention confirmed the fraudulent extraction of electricity, without the presence of a meter, directly from an Enel box. The ownership of the land was confirmed to be that of the City of Naples. The occupants of the structures were reported for theft of electricity, invasion of public land, and damage.
