Yesterday afternoon, the railway police officers in Naples noticed a man wandering around the station in slippers; the same, at their sight, tried to evade the police check, but was caught and stopped.
The police officers, after identifying him as a 29-year-old Frenchman, found that he was subject to a European arrest warrant as he was sentenced to three years in prison for being a fugitive, for about three months, from a community in France and therefore they associated him with the Poggioreale prison at the disposal of the proceeding judicial authority.
Last night, however, a 26-year-old Nigerian was reported by the railway police for the crimes of attempted theft, injury and resistance to a public official.
In particular, the operators found that the suspect, shortly before, had broken the glass of a bar outside the station, and, after engaging in a scuffle with two security guards who intervened to stop him, was stopped by some soldiers of the Italian Army, in service at the Naples Central station as part of the operation "Safe Streets".
