Naples Receives Funding for Disability Inclusion Projects

Naples receives 1.2 million euros from a fund of the Ministry for Disabilities for the implementation of 15 projects assigned to third sector associations committed to disability. Throughout the city, cultural, sports, recreational, educational, and inclusive activities will be carried out to ensure children, young people, and also adults opportunities for socialization, commitment, and leisure that are normally precluded to them due to lack of resources and necessary personnel. "I am very happy that Naples' application for this project was accepted. It is an important event for two reasons: first, it offers inclusive paths by also valuing small volunteer associations; secondly, it provides the possibility to participate in activities and events also for many citizens, young and older, with disabilities, who were on a waiting list. The projects will be operational in all Municipalities with a duration from 12 to 24 months." This is another small step towards a change in mentality that leads to considering disability not as a problem, but as a great opportunity for diversity that means richness.
