Direct witnesses, operators and institutions discuss the condition of femicide orphans on the occasion of the national conference, hosted in Naples, «Orphans of femicide, victims twice», organized on the occasion of the two years since the start of the activities of the project «Respiro» (Support Network for Inclusion and Resilience Paths with Special Orphans) carried out by Irene ‘95 in partnership with 13 regional and national entities and selected by «With the Children» within the framework of the Fund to combat child educational poverty.
In the presence of representatives of the National Authority Guarantor for Childhood and Adolescence and the Ministry of the Interior, and with the patronage of the Regional Council of Campania, the essential aspects of the intervention in support of orphans will also be addressed, from emergency action, to taking charge for the return to daily life, but also the work of violence prevention and training, advocacy and communication.
In the first two years of activity, the «Respiro» project has identified 305 minor orphans in the territory of southern Italy, hooking up 123 and taking care of 100.
Among others, the regional councilor for Social Policies Lucia Fortini, the regional guarantor for childhood and adolescence Giovanni Galano, the deputy coordinator of institutional activities of the social enterprise «With the Children» Simona Rotondi.
