National Mathematics Competition Celebrates Success at G. Mercalli High School in Naples

This year too, the National Mathematics Competition was a great success, held at the G. Mercalli Science High School in Naples where particularly deserving students from all over Italy competed in a mathematics test, prepared and marked by the teachers of the Department of Mathematics and Applications "Renato Caccioppoli" of the Federico II University of Naples. On the podium, in third place, Emanuele Pagliaro of the Galilei High School of Mondragone, second place: Flavio La Torraca of the Vico High School in Naples and in first place Salvador D’Aniello of the Nobel High School in Torre del Greco. The winners were awarded cash prizes and a scroll. The award ceremony was attended by: the director of the Regional School Office Ettore Acerra, the Councilor for School, Social Policies, and Youth Policies of the Campania Region, Lucia Fortini, the Councilor for Education of the Municipality of Naples Maura Striano, The director of the Department of Mathematics "Renato Caccioppoli" of the Federico II, Prof. Cristina Trombetti, the principal Prof. Luigi Romano and the principal Prof. Luisa Peluso of the G. Mercalli Science High School in Naples, who hosted the event.
