«Il Mattino» offers its readers great cinema: from Oscar-winning director James Marsh («Man on wire», «The Theory of Everything»), comes «First Dance, Then Think. In Search of Beckett», the biopic that tells the story, successes, loves, friendships and lesser known aspects of the giant of literature Samuel Beckett, one of the most revolutionary and influential figures of the twentieth century, author of masterpieces such as «Waiting for Godot», «Happy Days» and »Endgame». In the role of Samuel Beckett is the Golden Globe winner Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment, The Usual Suspects). Premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival and the Turin Film Festival, the film will be released in cinemas on February 1st. Starting from the "catastrophic" victory of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1969, Beckett recalls the salient events of his life in an imaginary dialogue with the personification of his conscience, allowing the themes and reflections that made his works great to emerge. This results in a little-known portrait of his personality: gourmet, loner, unfaithful husband, fighter of the French Resistance and also great friend of James Joyce, here interpreted by Aidan Gillen («Game of Thrones»).
