A new seizure of 43 million euros has been carried out by the Guardia di Finanza of Salerno, on the order of the prosecutor's office: the measure was issued by the Review, thus reforming the initial partial rejection order issued by the Gip in December.

The measure is part of the investigations into the group of companies attributable to the entrepreneur Giovanni Attanasio, 63 years old, mainly operating in cleaning, porterage and logistics services, who is now under house arrest.

Attanasio, according to the charges, would have used a series of cooperatives from which he would have received, in the period from 2013 to 2019, invoices for non-existent operations for about 175 million euros, shifting the tax obligations to the latter, in fact never fulfilled. In this context, the partial acceptance order issued by the Gip for a total amount of 34 million euros had already been executed on December 13.

The fraud would have allowed to obtain, in addition to an undue tax saving, a competitive advantage on the market, allowing to apply prices lower than those practiced by companies operating in the same sector.

Such conduct, according to the Review's decision, pending final judgment in trial, would constitute the crimes of fraudulent statement through the use of false invoices and through other artifices. The total amount of seized assets therefore now reaches about 77 million euros.
