Nicolas Fonseca: A Neapolitan's Journey to River Plate and the Uruguayan National Team

Half Uruguayan and half Neapolitan, Nicolas Fonseca - son of Daniel, who played two seasons in Naples, and Lisa Adamo - has been called up to the Celeste, the Uruguayan national team coached by Marcelo Bielsa. From this season, the 25-year-old player, born in Naples, plays for the Argentine club River Plate, one of the most famous teams in the world. When he was in Italy, Fonseca Jr had been selected for some matches of the Italian national youth teams. Fonseca has been called up by Bielsa for the two friendly matches of Uruguay scheduled in Europe, on March 23 in Bilbao against the Basque Country team and on March 26 in Lens against Ivory Coast.
