Nightlife Patrols in Naples: 20 Reported in One Night

Carabinieri checks on Naples' downtown nightlife: 20 reports in a single night. The carabinieri of the Naples Center company have intensified their presence, especially in the squares and streets most frequented. The first checkpoints in Piazza Dante, a pedestrian area always used by young people on scooters. There are 10 people reported in a few hours for driving without a scooter license, aged between 17 and 57. Controls were also extended to the neighboring streets and the Spanish quarters. A 17-year-old and a 20-year-old were reported because they were stopped aboard a motorcycle found to be stolen. Still riding a scooter, another 17-year-old was caught with a butterfly knife, and a 31-year-old armed with a screwdriver and scissors. The latter attempted to flee but the patrol cars positioned along every escape route did not give him a chance. Both were reported. A second 20-year-old faced the same fate when he provided the carabinieri with false personal details. A 27-year-old from Aversa was arrested for attempted robbery and sexual assault. He tried to take money from a group of young people and then attempted to kiss two minors. There were also illegal parking attendants: 4 of them were reported to the judicial authority. They were concentrated in the areas around Piazza Municipio and Piazza Trieste e Trento.
