He had become enamored with a peer who assisted him in handling administrative tasks related to the management of his employees, the man who was arrested by the carabinieri of the Santa Maria a Vico station for stalking. For months, the woman tried to make him understand that theirs was solely a professional collaboration and that no romantic relationship could ever arise between them.
However, the 49-year-old man from Santa Maria a Vico could never come to terms with this. Over time, his behavior towards the woman became increasingly insistent and oppressive, causing the victim to experience a prolonged state of anxiety and fear for her safety.
Although the woman had repeatedly declined dinner invitations, the man, even though he never resorted to physical violence, obsessively continued to "monitor" her movements through constant phone calls and messages aimed at knowing where she was at the moment and with whom. In just two days, he called her 170 times and, having received no response, he showed up at her doorstep, knocking insistently with kicks and punches.
In her complaint, the victim told the carabinieri of the Santa Maria a Vico station about other incidents, which remained confined to acts of stalking without ever leading to physical violence, but which nonetheless forced her to alter her own life habits. The 49-year-old, tracked down by the carabinieri, was arrested on a "delayed" flagrancy and taken to jail in Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
