Off-duty Officers Arrest Man with Drugs in Naples

Yesterday afternoon, two officers from the Vasto-Arenaccia police station, off-duty, noticed a man on a scooter in via Nuova Poggioreale who, acting suspiciously, after talking with another person, resumed driving towards Piazza Nazionale. The police officers, suspicious, caught up with him and checked him, finding him in possession of 8 bags of marijuana and 30 euros; subsequently, there being good reason to believe that there could be further elements regarding the facts under investigation, the officers extended the control activity to the vehicle used by the suspect and, in the under-seat compartment, found another 12 bags of the same substance with a total weight of about 25 grams and two bars of hashish weighing about 7 grams. Therefore, a 36-year-old man from Naples, with previous police records, including specific ones, was arrested for illegal possession of drugs.
