These are the premises characterizing the first edition of OlivitalyMed, scheduled from Saturday, May 4th to Monday, May 6th, at the splendid Castello di Rocca Cilento (Lustra-Salerno), a location of extraordinary beauty that will frame the initiative. The program is very dense and will unfold through a series of conferences that will touch on themes such as health, tourism, catering, and the future of an Olivitaly med product: three days dedicated to extra virgin olive oil in an unforgettable scenario that is much talked about but few truly know. The profile of the participants is also high, practically all the most important players in the sector, gathered in what promises to be the most important event dedicated to EVO of Central and Southern Italy. This is also testified by the quality of the masterclasses, which will offer visitors the opportunity to discover the scents and flavors of some of the most awarded Italian extra virgin oils. And they will be able to taste them in a path of tastings paired with bread, garden products, sea products, sweets. Or enjoy the enchantment of a sunset, with a breathtaking view among the green of the Cilento and Valle di Diano National Park and the blue of the Gulf of Salerno, sipping a cocktail made more intriguing by the skillful use of Evo, on a path that for the occasion has been renamed Sunset bOILevard. "OlivitalyMed aims to propose itself as a container capable of gathering the products and people who make extra virgin olive oil great," explains the Sgueglia family, organizer of the event. "A sort of hub capable of meeting the needs of experts but without forgetting to propose this precious product also to simple enthusiasts and newcomers. For us and all our collaborators, it also represents the opportunity to realize the dream of the family head Stefano, who recently passed away, the true creator of this event which also has the merit of bringing Evo back to Cilento, the homeland of the Mediterranean Diet of which extra virgin olive oil is the absolute protagonist." It was precisely in this splendid corner of Campania Felix, in fact, that Ancel Benjamin Keys laid the foundations of the most known and celebrated diet in the world, a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 2010 and a source of inspiration for entire generations of nutritionists.
