Ongoing Inspections in the 'Rinascita Sarno River' Initiative

The inspections carried out as part of the 'Rinascita Sarno River' initiative continue. The military personnel from the Mercato San Severino Forestry Carabinieri Unit, along with the local carabinieri station and Arpac personnel from Salerno, inspected a body shop in the municipality of Mercato San Severino. The inspections revealed the illicit management of waste produced by the company. The waste storage tank for liquid waste had never been emptied by an authorized company, and the highly contaminated yard waters, resulting from the activities carried out, were being discharged, without any type of purification, directly into the public sewer. Considering the environmentally hazardous nature of the conduct found, the military proceeded to seize the activity and the equipment present and to report the owner.
