Paolo Siani, the brother of Giancarlo, a journalist for Il Mattino killed by organized crime, will be in town to participate in a conference organized by the Legality Commission of the Campania Order of Journalists together with students from the Demmis association of the University of Sannio, titled "Legality and the Fight Against the Mafia in Giancarlo Siani's Articles".
The event is scheduled for 4 pm at the reading room of the Demm library in Palazzo de Simone. Speakers will include Giovanni Taranto, vice-president of the Legality Commission of the Campania Order of Journalists, Antonella Tartaglia Polcini, full professor at Unisannio and coordinator of Legality, and Paolo Siani. The program includes institutional greetings from: Gerardo Canfora, rector of Unisannio; Clemente Mastella, mayor of Benevento; Ottavio Lucarelli, president of the Order of Journalists of Campania; Stefano Orlacchio, student representative on the Unisannio Board of Directors.
The meeting will be moderated by Anna Liberatore, vice-president of the Legality Commission. The aim of the conference is to conduct an analysis of the criminal phenomenon, its influence on citizens, and the fundamental role of the press.
