Tuesday, April 16 at 9:30 AM, at the Fra Landolfo Caracciolo Library of the San Lorenzo Maggiore Monumental Complex in Piazza San Gaetano, there will be a meeting promoted by the Naples Academy of Fine Arts on the protection of Naples' monumental heritage, concerning the activities of the volunteer association “Angeli del Bello Napoli” in removing vandalistic graffiti that disfigures our heritage.
The association has been engaged for 5 years in this cleaning activity in agreement with the Public Bodies (Municipality, Curia, State Property) owners of the buildings and with the prescribed authorizations from the Archaeological Superintendence of Fine Arts and Landscape for the Municipality of Naples.
The appointment is part of a series of collaborative meetings between Universities, Schools, Bodies, Associations to eradicate this disfigurement of our city, in particular of our UNESCO World Heritage Historic Center; the deep educational work promoted by Angeli del Bello starting from the fifth grade will also be highlighted to awaken civic consciousness, to sensitize students to love the city, to value and promote our monuments thus avoiding damages with markers or spray cans.
The meeting will be attended by Prof. Giuseppe Gaeta, Director of the Academy of Fine Arts, Prof. Maura Striano, Councilor for Education and Family of the Municipality of Naples, Prof. Giovanna Cassese, Coordinator of the Restoration School, Prof. Paola Fiore, Professor of Restoration, Dr. Barbara Balbi, Restoration Officer of the Superintendence, restoration technicians Marianna Musella and Sara Scamardella, and for the Association Angeli del Bello Napoli Francesco Muzio and Giuseppe Serroni.
