Prestigious Awards for Excellence in Arts and Professions Granted by Lions District 108 Ya

Today, the prestigious recognitions of the "Excellence in the Territory in Arts and Professions" Award, organized by the Lions District 108 Ya for the XI District, were delivered. Among those awarded during the ceremony, which took place at the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples with the aim of giving credit to professional, artistic, sports, and entrepreneurial figures who have stood out in the territory, is Prof. Martino Di Serio, Full Professor of Industrial Chemistry at the Department of Chemical Sciences of the Federico II University. The professor, also vice-president of the national federation and of the regional order of chemists and physicists of Campania, was recognized by the Lions Club Napoli Host as an excellence, recognized nationally and internationally in the scientific field, for the development of circular economy and bioeconomy processes. He was awarded by the President of the Lions Club Napoli Host and President of the Regional Order of Chemists and Physicists of Campania, Dr. Rossella Fasulo, who emphasized how Prof. Di Serio's activity has been of great support for the innovative processes of many Italian companies and of the Campania territory. Furthermore, Fasulo reiterated the great commitment of the Lions, in synergy with the Federico II and with the Campania Region, to offer young people opportunities for study and training, especially through spin-offs set up by the University, but also by opening up to international courses to which foreign students from disadvantaged areas are also enrolling. "I am honored by this recognition - said Prof. Martino Di Serio - by the Lions who carry out constant and concrete actions in Naples and in Campania aimed at training, studies, and professions. Actions that should be taken as an example in any other territory." Di Serio will be one of the members of the evaluation commission of the Award dedicated to Giovanni Parisi, Chemist and Pharmacist, Full Professor of General Biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Naples "Federico II", as well as a scholar of international fame and a very authoritative member of the Club. A special recognition, delivered by the Governor of District 108 Ya Pasquale Bruscino, went to Prof. Ermanno Bocchini, Past International Director of Lions Clubs International who also held a lectio magistralis during the morning titled: "In lionism as thought and action". At the center of the lectio, the ethical objectives and the extraordinary commitments of the Lions which have as the leitmotif of their action: freedom, justice, and the fight against poverty. The proceedings were introduced by Pasquale Sessa, District Coordinator of the service "Excellence in the Territory in Arts and Professions"; the presentation was entrusted to Giovanni Cibelli, president of the XI District. There were also interventions by Antonino Magliulo, president of the Lions Club Napoli Lamont Young - the Club hosting the event; Rosita Marchese, president of the Board of Directors Academy of Fine Arts; Giuseppe Gaeta, director of the Academy of Fine Arts; Hubert Bowinkel, member of the XI District Service; Pino Naim, II Vice Governor; Tommaso Di Napoli, I Vice Governor.
