Professor Giancarlo Bracale Elected President of the European Association of Professors Emeriti

The professor from Naples, Giancarlo Bracale, already a full professor of vascular surgery, director of the UOC and the School of Specialization in Vascular Surgery at the University of Naples Federico II, currently an emeritus professor at the same University, has been unanimously elected in recent days as president of the European Association of Professors Emeriti (Eape) which includes emeriti from various faculties of European universities. The current president is Professor George Christodoulou of Athens while the outgoing president is Professor Leslie Ebdon of London. The society includes about 200 members and organizes an international congress at least biennially addressing generally multidisciplinary topics of broad interest such as: healthy and active aging, protection of the vulnerable, climate change, environmental protection, comparison of the health organizations of various European countries, energy saving, current affairs and prospects of AI, prevention of major cardiovascular and cancer diseases. Furthermore, there is an ongoing discussion among various countries about the requirements, role, intergenerational exchange, and integration into the Green Economy of emeritus professors with the goal of coming to the formulation of a common European platform. Professor Bracale is also a great sportsman: he is president of the historic Circolo Canottieri Napoli.
