Rallying for Palestine: A Nationwide Signature Campaign in Italy

The association "Schierarsi", founded by Alessandro Di Battista, is returning to the square in Benevento on Sunday, April 14, to give new momentum to the signature collection for a popular initiative law, started last January 28, through which Italy is asked to recognize the State of Palestine as a sovereign state. "Palestine - explain the activists from Benevento - is today recognized as a state by a number of countries that represents about 80% of the world population, more than 70% of the members of the United Nations. The Spanish government is about to join them. Our country is not part of this large majority: we ask that Italy also recognizes the State of Palestine. To date, 35,000 signatures have been collected nationwide. The goal is to reach at least 50,000 certified signatures." In Benevento on Sunday from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm, there will therefore be a signature collection booth along Corso Garibaldi, near the Arcos Museum. "We ask for everyone's support - is the appeal of "Schierarsi". It is our duty to do our utmost to support a people and their rights. We owe this to the approximately 35,000 victims of civil society who died in the Gaza Strip, of whom 12,300 are children. In a few months, more children have died than in all the wars in the world over the last 4 years."
