Reorganizing the 118 Emergency Service: Mayor Mastella's Initiative

The mayor of the capital, Clemente Mastella, in his capacity as president of the mayors' representation committee of the Asl, presided over a meeting at Palazzo Mosti this morning with associations and representatives of the health company on the issue of reorganizing the 118 service. The associations Cittadinanza Attiva, Salute e Territorio, Sannio Cuore, No Demedicalization 118 Fortore Miscano, Rete Uccp San Giorgio del Sannio participated in the meeting. At the end of the session, the mayor asked the representatives of the associations to create an operational plan to experiment with the possibility of avoiding the demedicalization of some 118 ambulances through the performance of additional services by doctors. The associations present, thanking Mayor Mastella for his sensitivity, guaranteed the drafting of a proposal document that will be subsequently examined and evaluated in a technical table with the general director of the Asl, Gennaro Volpe, whom Mastella himself will promote. During the meeting, it was also guaranteed that the Rete Uccp of San Giorgio del Sannio will continue its normal activity.
