Recovery and restoration works have begun in the past few hours on the ancient walkway between the Parsano bastion and the San Valerio bastion, one of the most important sites in Sorrento.

The project involves the recovery and enhancement of one of the sections of the ancient defensive wall of Sorrento, restoring the walkway, now completely collapsed due to degradation and the high aggressiveness of the infesting vegetation. The old wall structures no longer existing will be replaced with Corten steel profiles, preserving the remnants of the old wall still visible.
The Ancient Walls and the Parsano Bastion were built to protect the city from Saracen incursions. Today they represent an important attraction and a suggestive setting, where to host cultural events and manifestations.
