Rising Incidents of Vandalism in Naples: Cars Targeted by Vandals

"Yet another episode of 'smashed windows' in the city. This time it involves fools who are targeting parked cars of resident citizens. Shameful incidents that are unfortunately on the rise, especially in the residential areas and neighborhoods of the city," are the words of Nino Simeone, President of the Infrastructure and Mobility Commission of the Naples City Council, who highlighted the glass emergency: a few weeks ago, the same incident occurred against the windows of public transport vehicles in the city. "This time it was the Fuorigrotta neighborhood's turn, which had already been the subject of similar incidents in the past, but unfortunately, the situation is deteriorating and could get out of hand. I make an appeal to the citizens, victims of these incidents: report these episodes to the competent authorities," he said. "I will write to the Prefect, the Chief of Police, and of course the Mayor, to ask for increased controls and to activate the city's video surveillance system and check the recordings of private cameras present in that area, because we need to understand the nature of these 'break-ins', hoping that they are not emulating the recent incidents that involved ANM buses and that, thanks to the law enforcement, we were able to resolve in a few hours."
