Two separate contracts have been awarded by the Infrastructure sector of the Province of Benevento to as many companies to carry out safety interventions on the road in the Monticello tunnel on provincial road 115 Fondo Valle Isclero. This was communicated in a note by the president Nino Lombardi, who specified that a total of over 200,000 euros will be spent on a stretch considered dangerous by many drivers. These are two interventions aimed at ensuring better safety conditions in the passage in the artificial tunnel named Monticello, in the municipality of Airola, 320 meters long, with a two-lane vehicle flow in both directions.
A first intervention, they inform from the Rocca dei Rettori, concerns ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, including milling and remaking of the road surface, painting of the walls, remaking of the road slope. A second intervention instead concerns the realization of the lighting system, currently absent, in order to guarantee users greater tranquility in the tunnel transit.
